If you look up the definition of “The life of the party”, DJSooFlii’s picture would be beside it. She has an energetic and addictive personality, mixed with a knack for knowing exactly what a crowd wants to hear. She has five years experience under her belt and won the 2023 Baltimore Pride DJ Battle.  

DJSooFlii was born in Harlem, NY, but her mother had dreams for her children outside of the city. She moved them to the DMV where she graduated early from High School and went on to earn a certificate in Cyber Security. By day she works for Amazon Web Services as a data center technician, at night she’s either at home honing her skills or in a club doing what she loves most. 

Music was a staple in her home and credits her family for her eclectic tastes. Her mother is a Praise and Worship leader, using her talent for singing to bring people closer to God, but also walked around the house singing her R&B favorites. Her twin brother, Shaquil Hickman, introduced her to electronica, pop, and rock. Her younger sister, Najae Hickman, kept her up to date with the latest in rap/trap and introduced to one of her favorites, Doja Cat. 

These attributes are what made DJSooFlii who she is and why she is able to mix every genre together in a way that no other is able to do. Her smooth transitions and unique song selections will transform your regular night out into a storytelling of her life and experiences.  

She now lives in Oxon Hill, MD with her wife, Nichole Hickman who is also her manager. Together they bring a unique experience to all that get to encounter the magic of DJSooFlii.
